Mission Statement of the Dr. Grace O. Doane Alden Public Library

Early in this century the citizens of Alden launched a campaign to convince Andrew Carnegie to help fund a library.  Alden was too small to meet the population requirements for such a giant, but the interest and support of the citizens persuaded Carnegie to make an exception.  Throughout the years the people of Alden through their library have been dedicated to providing information, technology, and recreational materials for a diverse population.

The Dr. Grace O. Doane Alden Public Library offers to the public books, dvd's, video tapes, audio books, music cds, and great spots to read the in the library. We serve the town of Alden and the Greenbelt communities that surround us. We are located in the Iowa river area, in Alden, Iowa 50006.
